The annual Los Angeles Raptor Study (formerly known as the Griffith Park Raptor Survey), founded and sponsored for the past nine years by Friends of Griffith Park, has released its 2025 results. This past spring, more than 200 volunteers monitored 110 pairs of Cooper’s Hawks, 152 pairs of Red-tailed Hawks, 41 pairs of Red-shouldered Hawks and 48 pairs of Great Horned Owls. Combined, those nests successfully added more than 500 young birds to our city’s raptor population.
