LA Times Article explains how this bill could impact all homes in Beachwood Canyon and beyond:
Beachwood neighbor, Jamie Caffrey says, “There’s no set back to allow for 5ft of clearance so pretty much everything would have to be removed. Trees, privacy hedges anything in front of a window , hillside foliage. Essentially all the vegetation you see around the neighborhood. It would actually be heartbreaking.”
BCNA president, Missy Kelly says, “If you are to take this reasoning logically, balcony plants would be illegal!” When asked what Beachwooders should do, she replied, “The only thing left is to oppose it vehemently – Landlords, single family residents, AirBnBs, and multifamily residents and owners should join in the fight against this. It seems just too extreme and only benefits insurance companies.”
